I just submitted the FAFSA online but cannot find any way to print out a copy of what I sent in. All I can find to print is the Confirmation Page, which doesn’t have any of the actual information I submitted. Before I submitted, I looked at the Summary Page, and it said not to print it because there would be another opportunity to do so. But either I missed it or they lied. Either way, can anyone help?
I did this 2 hours ago. The page with the submit button on it has a button the says review or print, which is different from the plain review button. The page it generates has a separate print button. Probably you can login again and find it.
Unfortunately that doesn’t work. It allows me to do nothing at all. I think I’ll have to wait till it’s processed. This FAFSA can be quite user-unfriendly. Oh well, thanks though!
I sympathize. I spent 20 minutes texting with my kid, a college sophomore, about whether she’d be filing taxes. She wasn’t sure. She didn’t know what withholding taxes were. I explained. Turns out her W2 came to the house, so I figured out she would not be filing. Then I had to get her bank balance. Turns out DW has access, but she was napping. This is my third time at bat, but it never gets easier.
I had same problem as OP. I’m an experienced computer user and was watching for opportunity “later” in the process to print before submitting and was shocked when submission was final instead.
@mommdc’s advice (Post #5) is spot on. It will just be a few days.
Chrome handles the FAFSA website just fine, and if you ever want a page saved for future printing, all you have to do is right click, choose Print, and then on the Print box, change the destination from your printer to “Save as PDF” and you will be able to create a PDF version of the webpage that you can save and print out later if you need it.
Firefox also works with FAFSA perfectly fine and, with the addition of Fireshot to the Firefox browser, you can copy and convert any whole webpage or portions thereof to a PDF file instantly.
Choice of browser is a personal one, of course, but, in my experience, Internet Explorer is the worst these days, and most prone to issues, and I never ever use it, and I am using government websites on a daily basis. All that to say that one ought to try out the various browsers. Each has its advantages.
I’ve never had an issue, with IE or Mozilla. I always take advantage of any “preview” feature before submitting, be it FAFSA or tax return. You want to make sure what you’re submitting is correct.
