FAFSA Q

I’m totally new to all of this. I got my associate from CC last year. I am now hoping to transfer to UNT to pursue Business Admin. I’ve never applied for FAFSA before and would like to know what are my chances of receiving aid. I’m a 26 years old, my mother is nearly 70 and doesn’t make much (currently takes care of my oldest brother financially). I’ve heard past a certain age they can no longer look at your parent(s) income, is that true? How much does it normally pay for? I’m a first in my family to attend college.

You are 26 so you are independent.

Try a FAFSA EFC estimate calculator.

No one can tell you how much “it usually pays” without knowing more information such as your 2015 AGI and your assets.

What school is “UNT”? Is it University of North Texas? What is your resident state?

How much do you have saved to pay for college?
