FAFSA question- 2008 vs 2009 returns

Hi there.
I submitted my FAFSA back in early February using information from our 2008 tax return, because my parents hadn't completed their 2009 returns. Now that we have our 2009 information, the income is significantly different, so I was wondering in what direction I should go? I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to update with the new information or just let my colleges figure it on their own? I was accepted to a UC, and the financial aid is dependent on my FAFSA EFC. Would it make any difference?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks.

When you filed your FAFSA, I assume you indicated that you " will file" your taxes.
while you used 2008 information, it also might have been a better idea, to use end of year check stubs that summarize income and deductions instead.

However, now that you have that information- you need to update the FAFSA- and if it were me- I would rather have a FAFSA with the most up to date information I had- instead of waiting till my colleges downloaded my info themselves and surprised me by correcting my FAFSA online.

Yes, do a corrected FAFSA online, make all the necessary changes, including changing “Will file” to “Have filed” (or whatever the terminology is).
