When I filled it out on January, my mom could not find her documents, so I asked her what was her "adjusted" gross income. She told me to just estimate around $30,000 on the form because she couldn't find it in the stack. So I did. And I got a Pell Grant :)

Now I got into UCSD/UCSB/CSULB, and they are asking for my 1040 form; bear in mind, my mom finally found it a week or so and I looked on the adjusted gross income and it said it was ~$60,000!!!

My mom had given me her "work income" as opposed to the "adjusted." I HATE when they make these things so confusing! Plus it didn't help that English was not her first language so we got "lost in translation."

Now I remember the question asking to omit pensions, 401k's, etc. - unless, I am imagining this? Therefore, if I subtract these attributes, I would get around $28,000 which is roughly the $30,000 I had originally put.

Should I change this? I really don't want get in trouble and jeopardize my future education.

Although, I hate do it this late and then also receive nothing since my mom is not working anymore as of Summer 2009... :(

What should I do?
