FAFSA Question!

Hi!

I got my initial offer from the college I'll be starting next month (Rutgers NB, if it matters) back in April and I got around $20,000 in total. They took it off my award status because I hadn't sent in my verification forms. I sent those in in June but it still hasn't gotten back on the website. I didn't have to make any corrections to the FAFSA since the initial offer, and the tax return my school needed, my mom's income changed went up by...I think it was around 10 cents or so.

My question is, can they take away their offer since it was completely need-based? It included a PELL grant amongst other things like it. The term bill comes tomorrow and I have until August 9th to pay it and I'm freaking out because as of right now I don't have any money for it and I don't even know where to begin with loans and such.

Thanks!

We can’t help you–call the Financial Aid office first thing in the morning and find out what’s going on.

I did call today, and they said they’re still reviewing my documents from June. I asked if my award would be the same but the lady said she’s not sure. I was just wondering if they could take any need-based money away since though I sent documents in June, they seemed to be processed kinda late.

If you still qualify for the Pell grant, you will still get the Pell grant. It’s federally funded and it’s an entitlement. You will still qualify for the Stafford loans…anyone completing the FAFSA can get those. What other need based aid did you have?
