If you ahve more than 6 schools, you have to file it, and then file it again. My question is, how do you know what 6 schools to pick? Ho long do you have to wait before you can send in the next ones (I have 9). Where can I find this information as to what colleges need it first, and how will I know that they have processed it and I can then change it?

check out the "Adding Schools to the Fafsa" thread

I saw that thread, and then I went to the sites of two schools (Berkeley and northeastern), and I could not find where they said the filing date for fafsa was.

ok I think the question was just answered, you have to call each school.

Hi Ares153

According to the info UC sent us on financial aid, they need the information between 1/1 and 3/2.

Also, if you wanted to be considered for Cal Grant eligibility, it's best to list a UC Campus or other CA 4 year college first on your FAFSA application.

My S is applying to several UCs and several private colleges (all the private colleges need the FAFSA submitted by 2/1). What we are going to do is list ONE UC and then 5 private colleges. After we are assured that those colleges have downloaded the information, we are going to list the remaining UC colleges (before the 3/1 deadline).

Hope that helps,
FresnoMom
