<p>I’ve wondered about that before and have helped two Auto 0 kids file so far this year…but there were no pension/IRA contributions and I can’t remember if the questions were even asked! I’ll make a note of that if I see any more…it could be very helpful in certain situations!</p>
<p>Sorry for the incorrect number, I was looking at the wrong formula:</p>
<p>In 2010-2011, student income protection allowance was 4,500.</p>
<p>In 2011-2012 it’s increased to 5,250.</p>
<p>Well you guys helped me last year and I did manage to adjust my income to under $31,000 (long story of how I did that) and I did get the 0 EFC. However this year we made much less $26,000 but my EFC is $525. Whereas this may not make any difference in the amount my daughter gets, I just dont understand why we wouldnt get the O. My husband is also considered a dislocated worker which there again qualifies for the automatic O. My daughter even made less than last year so that would not even effect it. Everything else is the same.
