FAFSA questions! *HELP!*

Note: I know someone have already posted this question...

So, I am up to this part of the FAFSA:

Based on your answers to previous questions, you may skip certain income and asset questions, including:

* Your and your parents' income taxes and exemptions.
* Your and your parents' untaxed income and income exclusions.
* Your and your parents' assets.

Note: Some schools may require answers to these questions to determine your eligibility for school aid. However, answering these questions will not affect your eligibility for federal student aid, such as a Federal Pell Grant.

Questions: So do you think I should skip or not skip the questions? What kind of school aid are they referring to? Have anyone answered the questions and not skip them? What should I do? So skip or no skip? I'm so confused. Which is better?????!!??

If you don't answer and the school wants to know, they will ask you.

You have most likely qualified for the Simplified Needs test (or possibly an EFC of 0 if you met certain conditions).

I had the option and did not fill in the numbers. If NYU (where my son already attends) wants to know more, I'm sure they will ask.

IMO, don't ask, don't tell :-)

If you answer the questions even though you are not required, the information will not be used to calculate your EFC. So, it doesn't make a difference if you skip the questions or not, unless, as sue said, the school requires parental information regardless.
