From age 0 to 5 I lived in NY. I then moved to NJ until I was 15. We later moved back to NY, and have been here for two years now. (I’m 17 now) FAFSA asks “Have you lived in New York for at least 5 years?” should I put yes because I technically have from when I was young or no because I only moved back two years ago.
No…you answer NO. Then you will get a question asking when you moved to NY. You will put the date you moved to NY this time. It shouldn’t be a problem because you have resided in NY for more than a full calendar year. So you have NY residency.
