Never said summer, mid way through the fall semester 2014.

@mom2collegekids It was against the primary home, parents refinanced.

You are saying they don’t do special circumstances reviews until AFTER you have enrolled? I don’t believe that. Students make these requests so that they have the financial information to MAKE a enrollment decision.

I agree with mom2. The equity in your rental property is likely tapped at a higher amount than your primary residence. Actually at a FAFSA on,y school, your primary residence equity doesn’t even get mentioned.

But what’s done is done.

I would definitely find out if special circumstances considerations really aren’t done until midway through fall term. That makes no sense.

It says that it only applies for the current award year 2013-2014, I didn’t apply for this current year because I’m attending a Community college, which I can afford…and the 150K medical/therapy loan was this year.

Oh well, I’ll figure something out.
Thanks!

The military pays off student loans in very rare cases. Be careful.

I applied for special circumstances for two of my children. One attends a Cal state and one a UC. I was not able to do this until after June 30 for one and September for the other. I think they like to see whether your circumstances are still the same well into the year. The UC did not get back to us until December. Then we were credited for two quarters of adjustments.
