<p>UCSD has offered me a preliminary financial award but I have to submit my parents' taxes to get it approved. Since I haven't received notifications from all the colleges that I have applied to yet, I want to know if I should send it now or wait.</p>

<p>Also, my Social Security # appears on the tax returns, and I feel a bit unsafe having to send it through the mail. If I cross it out and then send it, will the financial aid office accept it?</p>

<p>UCSD is also asking for my PID #. Is that the same as my login user #?</p>

<p>Your best is to call the school and ask. Some school will allow you to mark out all but the last 4 of the social…others will not. You can also inquire as to your PID#</p>

<p>The PID# should be the same number used for your UCSD log in. It’s not your UC ID.</p>
