FAFSA verification process?

<p>My EFC had an asterisk next to which means I got chosen for verification doesn't it? Am I supposed to turn in documentation to a certain place or straight to the schools themselves? && what exactly is required for verification? 2008 taxes? If I just send a COPY of the 08 taxes that should be fine right?</p>

<p>Also, if my schools have yet to recieve my verifcation documents will they WAIT until they get them to give me an estimate? Or will they estimate it for me beforehand and then wait for verification?</p>

<p>They should have indicated to you what documents are needed for verification. If they didn’t, give’em a call. A copy of your 2008 tax return is almost assuredly needed, and sometimes they require birth certificates, social security cards, or marriage certificates. Just to emphasize, though, you should only turn in what was requested. The documents go to your financial aid office. There’s also a verification form you will need to fill out and turn into your school’s financial aid office.</p>
