For my SAR, next to my EFC is an asterisk and a C. I know this isn't good. The asterisk means that my file is being verified and the C means my information is fishy.

My question is: What do I do? Do I wait it out? I'm pretty darn sure that all the information I've given is accurate.

There must be some info that is flagged in your SAR. It will be info that they are not sure about. It might be even some typo in numbers or your SS number is not right.
You can also call FAFSA line and see if you can get any help that way.

all verification probably means is that you send signed completed copies of 1040 forms and schedules as well as your w-2s
We have done it every year, something must have triggered it- not sure what- ( although I have had problems with credit fraud- the credit reporting agencies merged my # with someone elses file)

Find out in explanation section what exatly triggered your C letter. Verification is a normal process, you will receive requests for additional info from your school.
Letter C means that some of your info in not confirming with them, maybe you put to be a US citizen and it is not being confirmed, or your SS in not corrsponiding with their files or simply some numbers are mistyped and you have too many or too little "0" somewhere. This info you probably can correct on your own.
Read your SAR report carefully and find out what C means.

question: I have a C next to my thing, but in my SAR report it said that they could not verify my US citizenship lmao....but all i have to do is send validation to my college when they ask for it.

There is nothing else written in my SAR Report in regard to verification... so there is no other problem right?

As others have said..if your information is accurate, don't worry. We have been annually selected for verification. All it means is that we have to send in our tax forms...you'll get directions. The odd thing with us is that we have been selected for verification, but we don't qualify for a nickel of need based aid....
