sorry for asking so many questions.

I was chosen for the fafsa verification, and I already mailed the forms to them.

However, now I feel as if i didn’t send in certain documents; also, i didn’t write my name on top of all the tax return papers (though i did write my student id).

So, i do have a feeling that my fafsa verification won’t be processed successfully on the first try.

I know that the deadline is july 15th. Yet, will the financial aid offices notify me before that? and if they don’t, will they notify me before the deadline to accept the financial aid?

I’m a bit peeved because i really need the financial aid that i’m receiving.

You can call them to ask if you are missing anything, but they’ll mail you ask soon as your processed if you need to send in more stuff.

I called earlier last week, just to get an estimate on how long it would take for the status of the documents needed on MyAwards to go from “received” to “accepted.” They told me that they would start processing around now (maybe one more week before they start), but you seem like you mailed your stuff early, so you should be good and be notified relatively soon (and definitely before July 15th) if you’re missing anything. When I called, they had about 500 or 600 packets from students to review, but they organized it by last name or something, and for mine (last name begins with H), there were only like 64 people to be reviewed along with me, and I was 16th in line. I really recommend calling, they can give your case a quick overview.

@michellaneous,

They don’t review by last name, they review by order received. At least, that’s what they state on the financial aid site.

Ah, my bad. I hope they begin reviewing soon; even though I was told my things looked fine at first glance, I just want confirmation.

Where do you find out if you need to verify FAFSA? I’m lost.

When you sign into http://myadmissions.ucdavis.edu/ you’ll see a link that leads you to MyAwards. When you check your award details, if they need you to verify anything, you’ll probably see something like this: http://i990.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/albums/af29/thecatsmiaou/fafsaverification.png and if you do need to submit paperwork, you can find out what you need to send Davis after clicking “See Your Award Details and Requirements” at the bottom. From there, you can see what’s been received and if it’s been reviewed yet, like this: http://i990.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/albums/af29/thecatsmiaou/fafsaverification2.png

If you don’t see something similar, then I guess you’re fine. Oh, and I believe I received an email from Davis sometime ago saying that I had to verify my FAFSA (not positive though).

thanks everyone for all your help. I think i got everything together. hopefully, everything is fine :)

?? what? Okay, i am really confused with you mancini.
