<p>Hello, I'm not very familiar with financial aid, which is acutally a problem, because it is needed!</p>
<p>I am very confused about the CSS Profile. Is it used in place of Fafsa? Can you submit both the fafsa and the profile to colleges? Are you supposed to send both to colleges? Any college? I am so confused!</p>

<p>Look up financial aid on your prospective colleges websites. It will tell you what do they need-some, mostly public will go only with FAFSA, private mostly will have either FAFSA plus their own form or CSS. Some will have all three. Be careful with deadlines and follow them very closely.</p>
<p>Every school out there is going to want the FAFSA. About 25% of the private colleges want the CSS profile in addition to the FAFSA. You can find the requirements at the schools' websites and at Collegeboard.com.</p>
