<p>Every year well-meaning, yet nervous, parents and students fall for various online FAFSA scams. It bears repeating on this FAFSA Day 1 to watch out for scams, and/or for companies that are legitimate, but that charge to fill this form out for students. I fell for it a couple of years ago myself, and was very upset that it happened. </p>
<p>FAFSA is FREE to fill out, and the only site that is recommended to use is the .gov site. You can pay someone to do it for you, and it can get pretty expensive. Just be careful about those places, because you may not really want to disclose all of your financial information to a third party.</p>
<p>It is not a terribly difficult form to fill out, but it does take time and concentration. Good luck!</p>
