FAFSA - Was it received?

Some of my colleges have confirmed the receipt of my FAFSA. (Only 2/11). The rest have yet to confirm through their systems. Does this mean that it got lost, or do they traditionally take a few weeks to acknowledge through the portal that they’ve received my FAFSA?

The colleges download them periodically in batches; it’s not like your FAFSA gets immediately transmitted to the college as soon as you submit it. You just need to be patient.

As long as you got your confirmation (and SAR), it’s there and the colleges you listed can get it whenever they choose.

Thanks so much for the info. I’ll be patient. I just thought I’d check though, since I’ve heard of decisions being held up over such things, but you’ve reassured me.

You’re good to stay on top of it. FAFSA is an easy one though ,what’s challenging is staying on top of Profile and idoc and the NCP form and the tax returns and various other things some colleges want. THAT was a real PITA.

I made a spreadsheet with deadlines and forms and still missed a couple. In one case it delayed a FA package until almost May 1, which was really too bad because it turned out to be an awesome package but too late.

Maybe with FAFSA, the colleges know that your numbers are not based on current tax returns yet, so some schools who might not have priority FA deadlines until March might not be in a hurry yet to access FAFSAs? In some schools the add/drop deadline has just passed and maybe the FA people are working on refunds and finishing up from processing aid for spring semester?
