deadline for priority was 2-15. Does anyone know if this is the date you had enter it by or the date you get an official e-mail from Fafsa with numbers?-which is when I assume OSU will also get it?

As long as you submitted before or on Feb. 15 (the entering freshmen deadline), you are okay.

(The priority deadline for current students - who will not be “new” in the fall - is March 1.)

We actually filed FAFSA Feb 1st and got an email the next day saying that the FAFSA info would be sent to OSU. However, as of today, my son’s financial aid report says they don’t have it. Filing and getting a confirmation and SAR from FAFSA before Feb 15th is no guarantee that SFA will have the FAFSA report by the priority deadline.

That happened to us last year. We were told by the school that as long as we submitted it by the date required, then we did what we were supposed to and aid wouldn’t be affected. And it wasn’t. You have no control over anything other than when you press that submit button and the school is aware of this (at lease that’s what we were told).

Thanks for all of your answers. The fafsa went through today, so I hope they do use the entered date this year, too.

I found out from SFA today that they won’t upload the FAFSAs until later, at which point, I assume they will consider the actual submission date. Here’s what they said,
“We have not started uploading the 2010-2011 FAFSAs yet. We will not start uploading them till late February, early March. You can check your student center the second week of March to see if we have uploaded it. If there is a problem with your FAFSA, you will be contacted.”

Would filing the FAFSA the day after the deadline have any significant affect?

Does anyone show their FAFSA posted yet? My son’s fin aid tab still shows the FAFSA not received. (We received our EFC and confirmation that it was sent back in Jan.) I see from the post above that it could be March till this is posted?
