If they need-based money i was offered is obviously incorrect, should I call, or resend or what? I was given hardly anything but my parents are divorced and the fafsa says that my family payed is not very high, and I was offered WAY more at other schools, and shouldn’t they be similar if the fafsa has nothing to do with grades or anything?

Yikes, I think they messed up mine toooo! I have to haggle with the financial aid dept. to see if I can squeeze out a bit more than they offered!

they honestly offered me like 1200 scholarship and 6000 loans… but i got offered way more from the other schools just basded on fafsa alone, so il lprobly call soon

My mom called today and apparently they aren’t done and those aren’t official and she told me they will be sending more fafsa money, as well as official scholarships. theres still hope! hahaha

OK, I think this is encouraging! We got the lousy loan offer and that was it.

Does anybody know if the CCPA-audition-based scholarship is the ONLY scholarship BFA’s are eligible for? My daughter has strong ACT scores, GPA, advance placement courses, etc. that for Roosevelt-outside-of-CCPA would result in pretty decent money. Does that not matter at all for BFA’s or does that come through a channel other than the CCPA scholarship letter?

Thanks musicislife. Small sample size, but it looks like from what we see here that past generosity is no predictor of future (or current) behavior!

Hate to say it but based on this, tuition increases, and a couple of interactions I’ve had on the phone, it seems the administrators (not students!) have developed an inflated sense of just where they fit in the pantheon of MT and Theatre schools.

I may have misunderstood you, and I apologize if I did, but I think that CCPA can be placed on the same level as most BFA conservatory programs. For many students, CCPA ends up being one of the more affordable offers that they receive. Plus, CCPA does not necessarily choose to raise tuition. Tuition rises each year for the entire University, not just CCPA. At any rate, I urge you to wait until you get your entire financial aid packet to make a judgement! If I can help you (or anyone) with anything, please let me know!

My daughter is waitlisted at Roosevelt. We haven’t heard anything since the letter telling us that, but I believe it read that we wouldn’t hear back until early May, if I remember the letter correctly.
