So I have pretty much failed 2 classes, Precalculus and AP Physics. I also have 2 As, 1 B and 1 C.
I’ve applied to San Jose State University for Economics which had a minimum E.I. of 3000. I have 3634.
The reason for failing these classes was that I was depressed and had a lack of motivation. I didn’t think I would actually go to college at all. And by the time I woke up it was too late. I spoke to my teachers about it but they refused to help me. It is my fault.
Am I doomed? What is my next course of action?
The rule of thumb for the Cal States is that you need to pass all a-g courses (Pre-Calc and AP Physics) with a C or higher to maintain your provisional admission. I would contact SJSU admissions, let them know of your grade situation and ask if there are any options such as retaking the classes during the summer or taking them on campus as Freshman next year to keep from being rescinded.
Should I contact them now or after I get provisionally accepted?
I would contact them now and see what your options are so it will give you time if you need to retake any classes or they may provisionally admit you with the stipulation you complete these classes with a C or higher to maintain your admission. Better to find out now than later since there are still Cal States accepting applications if needed.
