I’m a freshmen in high school right now. This year first semester I ended the semester with a D in biology, the second semester I also ended with a D in biology. In my school a D is a pass but in order to go to a 4 year college you need a C- or higher. I have the option of either going to summer school, if i go to summer school they will put that i went to summer school on my transcript and put in the new grade on my transcript, but they will not remove the first grade i got which was a D. I can’t really do summer school because I’m taking a course over the summer to skip geometry and i want to spend my time on that and get a good grade on it, and I have other commitments that are very important over the summer. Other then summer school I can just retake Biology next year but I’m not sure if that will help me get into college, I’m not sure wether or not I should do summer school or retake the course, either way the D won’t be removed from my transcript unless my counselor thinks it’s a good idea.
Having a D is fatal if you’re aiming for good colleges. You should retake the class during the school year and get the grade replaced. Do well, and then beg and plead with your counselor to see that it’s done.
