I'm a junior right now and I got a D and F in Algebra 2 my sophomore year because it was really hard for me and I just couldn't get an A as hard as I tried. All my other classes (in sophomore year and all other years) I had mostly A's with a few B's. My GPA is around a 3.4 (pretty low :) and my SAT score is 2200. I've retaken the class and have received an A both semesters but I'm wondering how this will affect my chances of getting into college. Will colleges, in calculating my GPA, factor in my new grades instead of my old ones? I want to go University of Michigan for psychology or maybe Berkeley/UCLA/some other college in-state. Help?

Sorry you’re going to die in mediocrity

No but for realsies. 3.4 is pretty low for the colleges your applying too. Do you have any redeeming ECs? Its not too late to get a few. They really help your college app. I’d say get the GPA up to at least a 3.6. Even a 3.5 would help. Good luck!
