Failed an Online Course! Help!

Hey, this issue has been eating away at me for so long, so it would help if you could offer some insight or something.
Ok, so last year, in the summer after 8th grade, I decided to take an online course in math to get ahead. I went to my middle school counselor as I was leaving and quickly enrolled in Geometry. The counselor entered in my name and in less then 5 minutes I was enrolled in an online course. All she gave me was a sheet with my login information. (This was a Florida Virtual School Course, if any of you have experience with that). I received no contract to sign and consequently knew nothing about how these courses were reported. I was really stupid for not asking, but this was my first online course, so I just went for it.

Anyways, the course started out easy, but I quickly realized that an online course environment was NOT for me. I really wished I'd known what I was getting into. It was when I began proofs and theorems, that I started to drown in my work. It's just not an easy concept for me to learn independently. What's worse, was that I had passed the withdrawal date without knowing, and couldn't back down. Needless to say I didn't quit, and finished off as many lessons and tests as I could before the final end date of the course descended upon me. After which the teacher just marked all unfinished assignments and gave me a final grade of 73%. (Ouch)

I'm not whining, but I feel like if I had known about the withdrawal date I would definitely have dropped out. I know many other kids fail online classes too, but I feel like I shouldn't have failed in the first place if I had known. I think there is a process to reverse an F, but I think it's only used for certain circumstances like sickness. Not sure though. Mind you, this was after 8th grade though, and I was new to all of this.

I'm not a student that just doesn't care about his work. I'm very involved in school and have never failed a class. I have always gotten A's in school, so you can imagine that an F on my transcript would definitely look out of place. I just don't know what to do about it. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Is there any way you could retake Geometry? I’m not sure what grade you are going into next year, but you could take a Geometry course over the summer at an actual school or maybe you could double up in math next year?

Just take Algebra II and Geometry at the same time during your freshman year (if that’s the grade you’re going into).
