failed engineering, but can i transfer?

Hey guys this is my first post

To sum things up, I'm currently a 3rd year in UCI and i had some personal problems and it really caused my life to get a little out of focus. I couldn't concentrate on school work and now i'm kicked from the school of engineering (can't reapply). i'm currently looking into maybe econ or something along the line; but it doesn't attract me as much as aerospace/mechanical engineering.

I want to know is it possible to transfer to other schools to continue with engineering? Keep in mind that my gpa has gone down b/c of the classes i messed up. It's around 2.3; i think i can raise it if i take some of the classes i failed, but now i'm unable to take them since i'm out of engineering.

things are starting to look a little better in my life and i feel i can maybe take a shot and do better. I took some career tests and things along that line and it tells me that engineering is one right career for me.

i looked at this situation from different angles, but i was wondering if anyone else can shed some light on it.

Talk to the Dean of Engineering at your school.

Talk to your Dean, I am sure they want your money. Otherwise, I would consider a school like Illinois Tech. I dont recommend changing majors to Econ. I have a B.S in Econ- it is a great degree but very broad and it will not prepare you for the job market. You will have to hustle to find a job with an Econ degree. after you graduate.

You will probably have to retake courses, no matter where you end up transferring. Your chances for transfer are likely dependent on whether your grades were good initially and then tanked because of your problems or if you had a hard time form the beginning.
