Failed/Got Kicked out an AP Class

Okay, I failed an AP Class(Computer Science), I got a 79 for the semester and needed to get an 80. How has someone rebounded from a failure like this, and this is extremely irritating and saddening for me since I have all As in my other classes including a 97 in AP World and a 95 in AP Euro....

And my chances to any Ivy or other prestigious schools have probably gone down the drain(I’m a sophomore)

I don’t see how a C+ (79) is failing. Is that 79 weighted? In a 100 point system, AP classes might get a 10 point bump. And no, this is one class. You are a strong student everywhere else, and you still have 4 semesters of grades left to improve your academic record.

I’m surprised that you were kicked out of a class for having a 79.

Yeah, but my school is annoying by saying you need at least an 80 to continue, but a teacher recommendation could have saved me, but no dice, man. Annoying as well since they didn’t take account of my other grades, but ehhh. I’ll just try harder

They kicked you out of your class because your grade was 79? That’s crazy… Anyways, don’t worry - you’re world isn’t ending. Just continue to get good grades in the rest of your classes.

What class are you taking next semester in place of AP Computer Science?

And, no, this was with no bump applied.

I’m taking just some random elective

If a C+ in an AP class at your school is considered unacceptable, I shudder to think of how inflated grades must be.

Seriously, though, I wouldn’t worry about it. Just do well in your new elective. Happy holidays!
