Failed Honors Calculus in High School

I am a senior and about to graduate. One class, Honors calculus was really hard. I got straight C's on it until the fourth marking period, when I totally bombed the test and quizzes and got an E on it. That brings my final to a 64.75 (D). Today, I taken the Honors Calculus Final Test an I am almost certain that didn't go so well. So I expect that I have failed calculus honors. I looked at the similar questions about failing on this website and all gave a variety of answers, such as "your college application will be revoked" and "your going to be fine."

But in my case, what will happen? This is the only class that I have failed. In all my other classes I got B's and A's and I don't need calculus for graduation or my future career. Calculus is only an elective and I'm planning to major in Biology for Pre-Med anyway. So if I found out that I really did fail calculus honors, what should I do? What will happen? Would my college that I already got accepted to really revoked my application as people said in similar posts?

Schools have different policies for just about everything. Once you get your grade, call the college and ask what their policy is. No one here can give you a definitive answer.

You only get revoked if you’re accepted, but then totally bomb your senior year. For example, if you fail calculus but somehow manage to get accepted to a prestigious university, you shouldn’t be rescinded unless your senior grades drop. Also, not every college revokes applications.

You may want to consider retaking calculus or a similar course…biology can involve a decent amount of calculus.

OK! Thank you all for your advice. I’ll wait for the final grades and hope that I passed. If not, I’ll talk to my college.

Read your college admission letter – if it has conditions of senior year performance that you do not meet, then you may have to contact the college about it.

Many medical schools do require that students take a college calculus course.
