Failed summer course, please help!

So I'm a high school student who over the summer, tried to be the over-achiever and bit off WAAAAY more than I could chew, taking on 4, yes 4 college courses at community colleges, online courses, university extensions and special programs.

They weren't exactly walk in the park subjects either, I signed up for Calculus, MicroEconomics, Physics and Computer Science.

I did ok in physics (A-) and microeconomics (B+), had to drop calculus, but ultimately got a D in computer science.

I worked literally all summer and tried my hardest, but I just signed up for waaaaay more than I could realistically handle. And now, my school guidance counselor is saying that I have to report all of my classes that I had taken, including the summer courses I screwed up in.

I'm just afraid that for that reason, I've screwed up all my chances for college since that will show up on my transcript and being that I am a senior, I realistically don't have time to take another class to replace the grade between now and when apps are due.

How much do you think this will affect me? Do you think I'll have to start considering community college? Is there anything at all that I can do to remedy this? Do I even have to report them or can I leave it alone?

I just feel so crushed right now and a sense of terrible irony; I took summer classes over the summer to increase my chances for college admissions, but may have just potentially ruined them by trying to get ahead :(

Any thoughts?

If your college plans are “I must go to Harvard and I will accept nothing else”, yeah, you might need to consider community college.

If your college plans are sane, however, failing a single community college course which you were taking concurrently with three others during your summer vacation will not be a big deal at all. The vast majority of schools have no desire or ability to reject people because they got one D. (You do have to report it though; it’s relatively easy for colleges to check if you’ve been enrolled elsewhere, and it’s a problem for you if you’ve lied about it.)

Ok I guess, I mean, part of the reason I tried to take summer classes was because my GPA isn’t terribly high to begin with, (3.58 UNweighted, 3.86 weighted) but I’ve heard that when you get additional scores submitted they are added to the cumulative GPA. In this sense, wouldn’t that grade completely destroy me?

God, I seriously can’t believe this happened…no one told me I had to report everything…I seriously just feel like I’ve royally screwed myself over now :/
