Failed the Essay Because I ran out of space

<p>So Ive practiced essays a bunch and when I took it this May I ran out of room after I was 1/3 of the way done. I thought they gave you like 4-5 pages for your essay but they only gave me 2 pages worth.... I was only on my second paragraph and my handwritings pretty big</p>

<p>Unfortunetly, you can’t do anything about it. It’s not a normal literary essay, it’s an SAT essay they’re a bit different and definitely shorter.</p>

<p>You won’t get a zero you addressed the topic, however you won’t get an 11-12 score either:&lt;/p>

<p>Don’t worry, you won’t fail - you’ll probably get a fairly good grade if you wrote that much. How do you write so quickly, btw? I have huge handwriting and I only manage to cover about 1.5 pages max. in the allotted time…</p>

<p>How big is your handwriting? If you had to evaluate it now from memory, how many individual lines of how many words did you write?</p>

<p>If there’s at least 10-15 words a sentence then you’re fine.</p>

<p>probably around 10 maybe less per line</p>

<p>ya i had the same problem. it is just one of those things where you need to write small so you can make sure you will fit everything on the given space.</p>

<p>=[ sorry ! the space rule is a blessing and a curse. a blessing because i feel like that’s all the space i have to write, so being concise won’t count against me. a curse because, like you, i run out of space !</p>

<p>You could say that you failed because you ran out of space, but I’d say you suffered from not being prepared enough. Call it a learning experience; now you know what you’re dealing with. That’s why it’s beneficial to take the test more than once.</p>

<p>Haha. I ran out of space, too. I managed to squeeze in the conclusion at the bottom of the second page. >=))</p>

<p>part of good writing is concise writing. if you can’t answer something directly and concisely, that ought be reflected in your writing score.</p>

<p>Your essay score shouldn’t affect your overall score significantly, unless if it’s <8.</p>
