Failed the PAE

I got the nomination but failed the PAE on my first try. However, I just barely failed, like 2 pushups and 0.6 second on the shuttle run to equel the scores and at least pass. However, I am now over a nagging knee injury that I think will improve my performance on the whole test. Is it possible to take the test again? Where would I get another scoresheet? I e-mailed my regional commander about the matter, but was curious if anyone out there had any idea. I just hope that I'm not done for, I would sure regret not even getting a shot at the prep school due to a knee injury.

Some might be asking why I took the test with a knee injury. Well, I wanted to get all the apps done, so I took the Navy one (2nd choice) along with the army one. The Navy one was a joke, I needed 125 points to pass and I got almost 100 on the long jump alone. however, I didn't discover how much higher the Army standard was until after sending in the results.

Any insight would be helpful.

You are able to fail certain events of the PAE but still end up passing it. When I met with admissions they said that as long as you basically exceed one thing, that will bring up your score to help the areas you are not so strong in...I guess it all gets averaged together, although I am not sure exactly how this is done...

Drsnipes:

Read the PAE brochure from the USMA website about who is qualified to admin the PAE. I suggest you have your coach or phys. ed teacher administer a new test and, assuming you pass, call admissions at USMA,tell them you've passed the retest and ask where to send the results. Explain your situation and see what they say.

If all you other items are in order, I don't see why USMA wouldn't want to know your true abilities.

Good luck.

Better make sure that the nagging knee injury was communicated to DODMERB.

You can take the PAE as many times as you need to to pass. However, once you pass, they generally discourage you taking it again just to boost your scores.
