Failed to report my GPA nicely, would it hurt my application?

I am an international student, and there is no GPA scale in my school. However, my counselor told me my GPA is 3.84, so I put 3.84/4 my self-reported grade. But then she told me she basically calculated my GPA by changing my final grade average to a 4-point scale. I know this calculation method would result in a lower GPA than colleges would expect, and 3.84 is a low GPA among MIT applicants from what I saw on CC.
Although my ranking in my school is the first and my GPA would be the highest in my school is everyone’s GPA is calculated the same way, I am still worried. I discussed with my counselor yesterday, and she said she would send an email to universities explaining this issue. She also promised to change me GPA in an optional report to a 100 point scale, which would be 96.
However, MIT decision is released tomorrow and I don’t think anything done yesterday or today is going to help my application anymore. Do you think this trauma would severely affect my application?

Here are my other grades:
SAT 2290(R770 M800 W720) one sitting
SATII mathII 800 physics 800 chemistry 780
AP 6 taken this year Statistics/Calculus BC/Physics C/Mechanical/Physics C E&M/Chemistry/microeconomics
all 5s, no courses offered in school

Ethnity: Asian

My ECs show great leadership, but I don’t have particular strong awards.

Do you think a 3.84 GPA would hurt my application?

Anyone answering here can only speculate.

I don’t believe it will hurt you. It’s a respectable grade, and your test scores definitely show you’re capable of handling the work. MIT adcoms will see that and then will move on to the rest (more important) parts of your application

Thanks a lot! I am just freaking out as the decision approaches, but now I believe the transcript is more important than the GPA number as nearly every school uses different standards.
