Failed

I took my first year at a university, failed that year. Moved to a Community college so that I may continue studying at a college. Although, I failed that year as well. Each year I has 2 classes passing and 2 classes failing. After the Academic suspension from the Community College, I came back for a semester and I took 3 classes, 1 class I failed and the other 2 I passed. GPA shows I have 1.54, which I checked with the grades I got, were supposed to be 2.33. I feel like a failure, I do not know what to do. I study and study but I continue to fail. So far I do not believe I am even going to pass any college.

Are there any tips or suggestions or people going through the same thing, can help me?

FYI, I have A.D.D. and Reading Comprehension disorder.

I think you’d be better off at a trade school.

Are you doing anything to address your learning disorders? I feel like that should be your first step.

Go to a psychologist and get a comprehensive evaluation. Based upon what the psych recommends ask for accommodations. You might even need

Medications. Once your add is better then restart school.

What do you hope to do after college? Do you have any clear idea of a career path?

Do you have any idea why you’re having so much difficulty? How did you do in high school? What is it about college that’s causing this apparent shift from “doable” to “failing”??

Not knowing the answers to any of those questions, it’s hard to speculate. If the reality is that you’ve always found academics hard, then it’s entirely possible that you would be happier following other pursuits. Not everyone is cut out for college. And you may just be one of those many people who would be happier, and more successful, following another path.

So let me go back to my first lien of questioning: do you have any idea what you want to do after college? What sort of things do you enjoy? What are you good at?

Let’s see whether we can find you some options that will enable you to find more success.
