Failing a class first semester of senior year?

Hello all,
Here's the situation.
Ive missed a lot of school this year and I have a teacher that is not willing to work with me much to make up the missing work. I am doing my best to take this issue to the administration as all absences are excused with doctors notes, but in the event that I fail, I want to know how greatly it would affect my College acceptances. Some background:

It is a regular level class. (earth/space science)
Weighted GPA is well over 4 (near 4.1) and with failing cannot go below a 4.0
Most colleges I am applying to would be considered less competitive (I will add list at the end)

I still want to know how failing a class would impact this. I have never gotten below a B in my previous years and have taken many advanced placement courses. Thank you for all answers.

List:
Augustana college
Coe college
Illinois state university
Illinois institute of technology
University of Illinois at Chicago
Northern Illinois university
Southern illinois university Carbondale
University of Iowa
University of Wisconsin at whitewater
Elmhurst college

Sounds like it’s time to get your parents involved. They should also be doing their best to make sure that this gets addressed, if not by the teacher, than by the school’s admin.

I would also talk to your guidance counselor. He or she will be writing one of your letters of recommendation and they are in a position to comment on a poor grade that arose due to health issues. The GC can also advocate for you with the administration.

By all means see what can be done at the level of the principal if the teacher is unwilling to take your illness(es) into consideration.

That being said, my guess is that if you explain the situation in your application, or in a supplementary document, most of the schools your list will take it into account. Just make sure that not pass this class won’t delay your graduation.
