Failing a class -- Need advice

I'm not sure where to post thing since it didn't fit in with any other topic..or this one that much....

The semester ends in a few weeks and as of right now I'm failing biochem. Without any curve, I would need at least a 90 to get a C. Chances of that happening are not that great.

The thing is I'm a senior. I"m graduating this May. And I've been accepted to graduate school next fall. So, it's really important that I don't fail. Because then grad school would take away my acceptance. Not only that, but they only offer biochem in the spring semester. So I would have to waste a year because of one class.

I didn't fail because I didn't try. I've never failed a class. I just did not expect biochem to be this difficult. I was so busy with applying to grad school, finding a job, a place to live, etc that I under estimated how difficult this class was going to be.

I can't drop cause 1) it's pass the date and 2) I need this class to graduate

I don't know what to do. I'm going to make an appointment to see my professor. But I'm not sure what good that would do. Any advice would be really great.

if you can’t drop than can u withdraw? though it will stay on ur transcript as a W, it nevertheless is better than having an F.

I’m not getting a F, i’m getting a D…which isn’t all the great either, but still slightly better than a D.

I can’t withdraw from it either. :(

just work as hard as humanly possible, try to reason with the professor, and prey. lol. If you put in every ounce of effort you have into it, that all you can really ask of yourself.

If the grad schools won’t accept the D, there’s got to be a school where you can retake it this summer. Look for colleges on the quarter system that have summer programs where you can do this.

Are you saying a D is failing, or that the grad school won’t accept the credit for a class in which you get a D?

lol yeah, i’m definitely going to work my butt off the next 2/3 weeks. Hopefully my professor will feel an ounce of symphony for me, I don’t expect it though. It is my own fault :(

Well…even if I do retake it over the summer, i’m not entirely sure that that would be acceptable for the grad school.

D is failing cause this is a required class.

^
Good luck!!! Hopefully your professor helps you out…or something!!! Hope all goes well…tough situation. :X

yea i would talk to the professor first, see if he could help you and and maybe lower the req for you to get a C… if not, then id call the grad school and ask them early on whether it would be ok for you to take the class over summer!

Good luck!

If you absolutely need the class in order to start grad school in the fall, maybe you could take it at your own school by independent study over the summer?
