Failing a class semester before transfer during Covid-19

Hi,

I am in my last year at community college and I will be transferring to a UC in fall from instate. I am currently taking 16 units (Differential, Discrete, Electromagnetism and Speech) and I was wondering if I dropped a class would the UC I am transferring to take away my acceptance. I have an A in my other three courses, however my physics class is really difficult. The professor made the class harder since covid-19, which resulted in 2/3 the class dropping. I want to as well, but I am unsure if this would impact my admissions. It’s taking up too much time from my other classes.

What are my options? I am at a low B, but I just failed my exam today.

Thank you!

You should communicate directly with the instructor to find out how you can pull your grade back up. The tutoring center at your CC should have virtual tutoring available, so work with them too. A grade of C is better than a W, so do what you can to aim for that.

It is almost certain that your fall semester will be online as well, so it is important that you master the learning skills needed for that environment.

Also, I know a lot of schools are allowing their students to make a late switch to S/U so if possible I would ask your prof if you can do that way it will not be as detrimental to your overall GPA and the transferring school won’t look at it too harshly as they are being understanding due to the whole COVID-19 situation.
