failing a non-uc transferable course

what happens if you fail a non-uc transferable course. Cal requires a "B-average in UC transferable coursework"... does failing a non-trans. course have any effect on my admissions?

It doesn't matter. You can fail it, drop it, pop it, lock it, etc...

It won't be shown on your UC transcript nor application.

ROFL at the pop lock drop it reference

genius

So does that mean the the UC's only get/look at the 'UC transferable courses' or GPA?? Even if your Cumulative GPA might be lower??

Yes, UC's will only calculate "UC-transferable" coursework into your GPA. Cumulative GPA only matters to the Community College. You do however, still have to include non-transferable classes on your application. Those grades are there. I've been told by a UC rep that they do look at your progress in non-transferable classes but not as highly as they would transferable classes since they aren't calculated into your GPA.

Actually depending on what your major is and what UC you are applying to a non transferable class fail will be a factor in your admissions. Here is the evidence below.
University of California - Counselors
and here is another piece of evidence

just go to page 14.

And if you want to go to Cal a "B" average won't cut it.

mmdowns...you are already admitted to Cal correct? Are you asking if you fail the non transferable class that your acceptance will get rescinded? please clarify. Did your list of classes that you had to maintain a B average in have that class listed as part of your acceptance? Most likely it should not have.

probably won't matter, one of my friends got into both ucla & cal and they said it was fine.

If I take another class in the science w/lab requirement and get a higher grade in it than the previous attempt, will they look at that higher grade??
