I am failing AP Calculus miserably and was just accepted to my top choice school. If I go I would major in Criminal Justice or Sociology, so do you guys think me getting an F would have them rethink their acceptance decision? Any advice you can give me?

Every school does it differently. Some schools will place you on probation, others will follow precisely the terms of the acceptance contract. Some don’t care. In my experience, the better ranked a school, the more likely it will abide by the acceptance agreement.

In any case, you should send a letter to the admissions department explaining what happened.

Call them. Get in front of the issue. Just waiting will not show you in a favorable light.

Call them as soon as possible. You don’t want to be surprised after May1 and declined all other admissions.

I agree with the other advice…BUT also get studying – work hard to bring the calculus grade up, you must not have been failing before you were accepted – see the teacher after class every day if you have to – get a tutor if you have to – do everything you can to bring the grade up to the C range so you don’t have to worry about your acceptance being rescinded.

An F will likely get your rescinded, so get a tutor and meet with the teacher after class to bring your grade to a C.
