I’m not doing well in my AP Class (My first one ever), and I just received a call from my HS threatening that I won’t be able to graduate unless I pass it. This doesn’t make sense to me. I have more then enough credits to graduate, so why is this one class potentially preventing me from graduating? Can you not pass HS if you fail an AP class? I am trying my 100% to pass the class but it is insanely difficult, and I’ve been getting better at it… just not fast enough.
also some bonus info – im scheduled to go in and talk to them about it… in a few weeks. I can’t wait that long without my mind racing and exploding so I just wanna see if anyone here would know why ahead of time. thanks
What class is it? If it’s a core subject that you need 4 years of, that may be the issue. Is there any chance you can drop down into a non AP level of the course?
I’m taking another math class in addition to it, so I’ll have 4 by the end of this year. I really can’t figure out why this could stop me, its freaking me out
Go talk to your guidance counselor on Monday morning. There is no reason to put this off. If this is an elective course, I agree with you that it shouldn’t impact graduation.
If you are going on to college though, be sure that failing this class won’t impact your matriculation.
I’ve been getting alot better at the class, so I’m expecting the last 2 quarter grades to be really good compared to the first 2 so It’ll look fine to colleges i think (And I’ll probably end up passing it as a result tbh). It’s just the fact that I’m not passing it RIGHT NOW is really pressuring and scary.
Have a meeting with the school this week. Stop all EC activities. Meet with the teacher after-school daily if you have to. Do your homework for that class there and get help as needed. Do “whatever” you need to do to pass this class. At some colleges 1 d means they can cancel your acceptance. This is nothing to be taken lightly.
