Failing AP Chemistry

My junior year took a hard hit on me, family issues, family deaths, and depression and I was unfortunate enough to have chosen ap chem. I thought I could do well but the teacher had no idea what she was doing and grader harshly. The course is rigorious and I ended up getting a D for sem1 and a F for sem2… I have fault in this situation but the odd were not in my favor, will good colleges still accept me if I have 1900+ test scores, a bomb personal essay and good extracirculars? My GPA is decent, 4.3 but it will go down with ap chem. Any advice for college admissions? (I cannot retake the class or make up the credit)

Depends what you mean by “good”.

You can explain personal issues to colleges, but it might be strange that it only affected one course.
