Failing calculus iii in high school??? :( :( :(

So bear with me, I'm freaking out.

So, I'm currently taking multivariable calculus in my senior year of high school, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get ~70 (maybe even a 65 in the WORST case scenario) in the class (so a C/D average). So while I'm not exactly failing the class, a ~70 still looks terrible on my transcript. I attend a competitive public high school, and the class is notorious for being difficult. Let me just say that I've done literally EVERYTHING that I could to do well in this class: studying every day, tutoring sessions after school with the teacher, getting help from classmates -- you name it, I've done it. I've tried really hard in this class, and it's just frustrating because my test scores are terrible. I understand most of the material, but when I take tests, I make careless mistakes (there is virtually no time to check it over). While most teachers I've had in the past are considerate about my small errors (like addition errors at the last step of problems -- it's stupid, but it happens you know?), but my teacher is brutal with his grading, so I always end up just barely passing the exams. While he knows that I work really hard in his class, he is still strict with his grading policy (your test average will end up being your average for the class).

I've been doing well in my other classes (all As and maybe one possible B), so I haven't been slacking off at all. It's just this ONE class. I've taken 4 APs (my school has a cap on APs), not including multi, and I've had a pretty challenging course load in high school. My recommendations were written by my AP Calculus teacher (I doubled up in math classes my junior year) and my AP English teacher, which I believe were both very strong. I have a very close relationship with my counselor as well, so I'm sure it was well-written. I have many extracurricular activities (leadership positions) and my SATs were ~2200 and SATIIs were all over 700.

Okay, so enough with background information.

So, I'm freaking out because CMU is my top choice. I applied to Tepper and H&SS. While I know that my chances of getting accepted to Tepper were slim, I felt that I had a pretty good chance at H&SS. So I guess what I'm wondering is, will this one bad grade in this class affect my chances of getting accepted into CMU? Also, how does this grade affect my chances at other colleges in general? I've applied to several business programs, and I feel that they would notice that I did poorly in a math course, despite it being the hardest math course my school offers. I'd hate to think that this grade can affect my chances at admission so greatly, but it'd be silly to say that they don't care about it at all.

Gah, I am so worried. This anxiety is making me miserable.

seeing that not many HS students take calc 3, you’ll be fine. H&SS is pretty easy to get in.

in short: calm down
