So, I am currently a senior in high school and have decided to occupy my summer with community college classes. However, I do not plan to take them too seriously as I want to enjoy possibly the last summer of my childhood. My question: In terms of graduate school admissions, will failing or getting a C in a community college class affect me adversely in any way?

Can I just not report my cc grades or will grad schools require all college classes taken? how does this work?

Thanks for any help.

You are expected to report all grades taken in any college classes both for Grad school and for undergrad. If you do not plan to take them seriously do not take the classes.

Also check with your university if the CC classes will have any impact on your status. At my daughter’s school scholarship recipients were warned that if they had any AP credits then taking CC classes between graduating HS and starting college could change their status to transfer status and make them ineligible for freshman scholarships they had been awarded.

Just audit the classes.

pass/no pass is an option too

It depends on the university you are going to. Some of the elite institutions do not accept classes from community colleges at all (they dont count gpa, no credit either). So if you happened to attend the top 25, chances are, it wont matter.
