Just curious:
How long do NYU/other similar colleges have to rescind an admissions decision and would the rescind if you got all As in your classes but didn't get your planned IB diploma? I'm just wondering because IB grades typically come out in early july and I would think that by that time you've submitted housing deposits, final transcripts, etc etc. After all that, could they really take away an offer of admissions so late and pretty much leave you screwed for going to any other college that year?

Just curious - I'm not planning on failing IB exams.

Are you American, taking May 07 exams? If so, they won't even know or care. Well actually at the exams most coordinators make you address envelopes to your school to send the results no matter what (for course placement). It can't hurt your admission (or so my coordinator insists anyway). They admit you as a candidate, based on your grades and the work you do for IAs, CAS, your EE, etc.

You won't find out your diploma status, or at least you won't get it, until winter of your freshmen year in college in most cases. Although honestly if you put any effort into your exams and the TOK/EE points, you should get your diploma. They pretty much won't give a 1 if you fill the paper out, and they almost never give 2s. Getting a 4 isn't too hard. Basically it's pretty hard to "fail" but they rarely give 7s as well, you have to do a really excellent job. Most of the time when I hear people who failed to get their diploma it's because they missed it by a point or two after not bothering in TOK/on their EE and then only getting one point there (out of three).

That's kind of what I was thinking, but I just wanted to make sure.

I'm really not too worried about not getting my diploma; ive only taken one test so far but i got a 7 (yes!), however i don't want to stress during may more than i need to.
