Failing out of UCLA?

I currently go to UCLA and just finished sophomore year, but failed a whole quarter this year due to extremely bad depression and also failed chem again for the second time. This means I can’t be a biology major anymore. Can I still transfer to another school and be a science major? Should I transfer to community college or a CSUN? I don’t know what to do.

So have you been academically dismissed from UCLA? What is your current GPA?

Not yet. My GPA is around a 2.1

I’d consider taking a leave of absence to work on your mental health before changing schools.

I agree with @OhWhatsHerName and you have to focus on getting your depression under control since your current academic issues will continue. With a 2.1 GPA, a CSUN transfer is not option. Take care of your health, then see if you could return to UCLA and work on repairing your GPA or consider a CC with a possible transfer.

Best of luck.

Is is possible that your struggle with Chemistry caused your depression? I have seen Chemistry classes cause great misery for many students in the past. My suggestion: Could you try next quarter to take 3 classes (just enough to be full time) that you think you would enjoy and not struggle with to see if your depression eases up?
