hey i got a question. I had a HORRIFIC year in freshman year only getting 3.9 gpa weighted, yet in Soph. year, i attained a 4.6 GPA and in JUnior i got 4.8. will colleges such as stanford or harvard reject me automatically for my failure in freshman year. dat year, my best friend moved away to virginia

BC: Yeah, he's right, a 3.9 isn't that great of weighted GPA, but don't worry about it, your sophomore and juniro year, you did excellent. Keep it up and good luck.

Jerod

They'll reject you for being stupid enough to think that a 3.9 is "HORRIFIC".

The only thing you prove by posts like this is your stupidity.

3.9 is my weighted GPA :(

heard stanford doesn't calculate gpa with freshman but i'm not sure

ok so most highly selective colleges use the AI or some form of it...

anyways, they use ur SATs, SAT IIs (if required) and your CLASS RANK (unless ur class doesn't rank). Therefore, it doesn't matter what your numerical GPA is because that could be really affected by what school you go to, some schools inflate grades. All they care about is where you are relative to the rest of your class...therefore your frosh yr probably does count.

PS its people like you who give good schools a bad name

dood, im just a little worried. geez.cuz after freshman, i worked my butt off

I have a creeping feeling that this is a joke...

I have a creeping feeling that he actually could be serious.

no pebbles, this is not a joke. i am nervous because i am applyign to stanford and worried that my freshman year grades are going to hurt my chances at stanford

AS I SAID, WHAT IS YOUR CLASS RANK?

Also, no offense, but please note that admissions officers at Standford and other places are looking for people who have high grades because they LOVE TO LEARN, not vice versa...I hope that you suceed in hiding your numbers obsession on your application.

man, im not obsessed with the numbers, i am just wondering if i will be rejected immediately because i did bad in freshman year...

The answer is NO.

stop asking such dumb questions

Like I said, you'll be rejected for having no sense at all. 3.9 is not bad by any stretch of the imagination. Ever.

Stanford does not calculate freshman GPA. They do not take anything into account.
