I am applying for ninth grade and I am caucasion. I also need LOTS of FA.

Do I have a chance for any of these schools?

Your EC’s, grades, etc are good, you definitely have a chance
BUT, you have a 64 percentile in math, and that could hurt you if you’re applying to the most prestigious schools
Over all you seem like a viable candidate, I kinda suggest retaking the SSAT in January (its not too late to register!), if you want and if your apps arent due by then…

Okay, thanks! However, my parents don’t want me to retake the SSAT’s (financial hardships…). Given my scores as they currently are, do you think I will be accepted into all of them, one of them, a few of them, etc.? Sorry for asking so many questions, I’m very anxious!

bring those scores up if possible. my bro is at exeter and he said most ppl there got 90s nd if not they had some like interesting hook. interesting stats nd such but ssat can affect ur chances

It’s perfectly fine if you can’t retake it!
You have a very good chance of getting into good schools, tons of people get into Andover, Exeter, etc with 80’s

I think that you definitely have a chance of getting in. The schools that you mentioned also look for students that do any kind of service (like fundraising, or community service), so that could be an extra boost for your app. Your SSATs might affect you a little, but the schools are looking for someone who have an overall great app, so i think you have a chance of getting in. BTW, great list of awards!

I think you should really retake the SSATs because that 62% is the one thing that I think will hold them back from accepting you. (although what do I know I’m asking for people to chance me too) Overall, I think you are a well rounded candidate. Also, if you are having financial troubles with retaking SSAts, its possible that you could qualify for a fee waiver, so that you don’t have to pay to take it. I’m not 100% sure because I haven’t looked into it for myself, but you should definetly check.

yeah, i think your SSATs are fine. as long as you have something that pops out about you.
I know some kid who got accepted to Exeter who screwed up a lot in math, but had a ton of EC’s and hooks. His SSAT’s scores i think was like 80. And he’s even Asian.
You would obviously get into those schools
