Fairfield University Class of 2026 Early Action

So grateful to be accepted!! Is the magis scholarship an invitation to the honors program, is this a guarantee to be in the program?

Iā€™m deferred

I have no idea why Fairfield is SOOO expensive. Itā€™s right up there with BC, UPenn, and Villanova. Crazy. Cannot justify paying that for Fairfield!!

My daughter got into their nursing program and she did not submit tests scores and her WGPA is 4.297. She is a certified EMT tho. Surprised your daughter did not get admitted, she probably will the second time around.

Aww. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Much appreciated. She has other great options so it will all work out regardless. And maybe Fairfield not admitting her just saved me a lot of $$. :).
Good luck to your girl!

Although Fairfield is expensive when looking at sticker price, they do give a lot of merit aid which the other schools you listed do not. If your student has the numbers to get into UPenn then they should get a pretty big scholarship from Fairfield. We didnā€™t think Fairfield was affordable either but the $ they offered have it a possibility.

Anyone know how you get into the Honors Program at Fairfield? Would that offer have been in my acceptance letter?

It is a beautiful school. She got into others that gave a lot of merit as well. NO football team is a deal breaker. She wants to be part of that school spirit. I hope all that want to be there get in. Good luck to all!

Just curious. Why apply in the first place if there was no football team?

Because she is a nursing major and it is extremely competitive. She needed to have some other choices if her 1st choices fell through.

Just got my financial aid notice on the portal. Received an email notifying me of a status update.

Do most applicants get some sort of financial aid? How do you know if you receive aid?

Anyone know when ED2 is posted for Fall 22 applicants?

fairfield requires both the fafsa and the CSS profile (can access this app through college board)

Is anyone else struggling with the high cost of attending this school? My daughter was admitted to Dolan for business with a $20k scholarship, but we are still choking on the price. Tuition for 2022-23 will be $54,455 with the added yearly ā€œgeneral feeā€ of over $800 on top of the $53,630 tuition. Room and board will be $16770.

Both tuition and room and board are significant increases that seem to be happen every year. We really love this school and think itā€™s a great fit for our daughter, but we donā€™t qualify for aid, and even with 20k off, we are still looking at over $50k a year with a higher total each subsequent year.

Yes! My son accepted into Dolan as well w merit. We will be attending admitted studentā€™s business visit on 4/22 for a deep dive to see if itā€™s worth the hefty price tag. He was accepted at Marist, Bryant and University of Scranton as well with more merit. I think Fairfield is best fit. Time is ticking, a choice has to be made!

Hi Linda, my daughter is applying to Fairfield BSN direct entry this fall. Out of curiousity, did your daughter write her common app essay about why she wants to go into nursing? I canā€™t tell whether my daughter should use a supplemental essay for that or if it is important to write about that in the common app?
