Fake IDs

How do you get a fake ID? Btw, I'm not planning on using the ID to drink, just to gain access to bars and other places so I can still hang out with my friends if they decide to go.

Make one yourself using photoshop and a laminator. Or ask around to find whatever sketchy place (e.g., tattoo parlor) in NYC that will do it for you and don’t give them the impression that you’re a narc. Or find some website that claims to do it. Or go to Bangkok and stock on fake documents on Khao San Road.

Um, nobody wants to hang out with some dude who isn’t drinking when everyone else is drinking. And you’re still subjecting yourself to potential legal culpability if you’re possessing or using fake government documents, even if you aren’t buying booze.

It’s pretty simple. If you’re a freshmen a bunch of guys on your floor will get fake IDs. The more people who want it, the cheaper it is, so just ask around.

You’re completely wrong. I know several people who have fake ids but do not drink. Why they find it fun to hang out with drunk people, idk, but they exist and enjoy themselves.

The way it happened for me is that somebody on the floor got a connection (it sounded like some “company” made a concerted effort to hire kids to act like representatives for their services) and 10-20 made an order all together. It was pretty common for the first two months for people to ask where such and such is getting his fake done.

for the record, I did not buy one.

To clear things up, I’m not afraid of getting in trouble for drinking. I just really don’t like the taste of alcohol and find it too strong for my liking.

the solution to that is to get better drinks…

If you’re gonna drop significant money on a fake ID, at least use it to buy booze. If you’re going to be a teetotaler, don’t even bother. To mirror what Columbia2002 said, you don’t want to be that awkward guy who goes to a drinking establishment and doesn’t drink. In any case, I don’t expect that your fellow freshmen are going to be big into the bar scene anyway, so you shouldn’t have to worry about being deserted on weekends.

why in the world are people so negative on this forum?! If the person wants to drop $100 on an id, let them! The bar scene has been plenty big my freshman year. We tried the frat/carmen thing, and quickly moved on.

That said, if you are going to a bar anyway, you might as well try a good drink - especially if you are concerned about taste.

I don’t know what’s negative about saying that people who are drinking don’t want to hang around a teetotaler. It’s just the truth, certainly with me at least.

Anyway, if you want a fake ID, you can get some flawless ones at this site I know, for $85. PM me for the URL. There are discounts for group orders, too.

I would be cautious of buying a fake government id from a website. There will be opportunities to do so from upperclassmen/enterprising freshmen when you get on campus.

Also, you aren’t getting into a lot of clubs/bars if you look too young – whether or not your ID says you are 21.

Have to agree, avoid the websites. Also, watch out for places that swipe IDs if it is a fake and not borrowed.

I had a fake ID when I was a sophmore in High School at 16 years of age. It was a really good ID that was somehow scannable. I did not look old but no place could reject me.

I don’t see anything wrong with buying an ID from a website, it is not illegal to buy or make fake IDs, it is illegal to present your fake ID. None of the bars nears Columbia swipe IDs, some will accept most things that say you are 21.

It isn’t so much the repercussions that I am warning against, its just that those websites tend to be gips.

Don’t make too many generalizations: certain (albeit few) websites are legit. The one I’m talking about is based in a country where it’s not illegal to manufacture fake IDs, and there are reviews of the website online. Any website that’s based in the US or Canada is a rip-off, since the best they can offer you are crappy “novelty IDs” that don’t replicate the official security features. They’d be traced and shut down in a heartbeat if they advertised realistic-looking IDs.

But if you have a friend who has had a good experience with some guy, by all means go to him. There’s no reason you shouldn’t buy something that’s worked for others.

Please note that I’m not saying you won’t have your ID confiscated; you very well might depending on how you use it. In some states it’s a felony to use a fake ID, and there is always an element of risk involved.

It likely depends on what kind of ID, how it’s used, etc… Presenting a fake US passport to a TSA agent to get on an airplane is obviously worse.

ROFL… try making fake US passports. The feds will stick all sorts of charges on you.

Reviews can be faked, posters can be on commission. Its no offense to you but I’d rather trust a product I can get a look at before I send my money to. Then again, I’m too old to worry about fake IDs. :D

^ I’ve already got a look at the product, which is why I’m a fan. :D

Here’s an interesting article about fake ID’s, what happens when things go awry, and the technology used to combat their use: [Vigilance vs. fake IDs, and the kids are crafty - The Boston Globe](http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2005/09/18/vigilance_vs_fake_ids_and_the_kids_are_crafty/?page=2)

I once got an ID confiscated, with my real name on it. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous after having it taken, especially since we got a notice from our university saying it is a felony to use a fake ID to buy liquor in MA. No legal consequences, though – just a really awkward encounter and an implicit ban from the store.
