Son sent his app in today. Anyone familiar with how the process works between the AFA and the Foundation?

Is there a seperate application for falcon foundation? I was under the impression that you were considered as a USAFA applicant. From what I've heard, the top qualified alternates are offered the Falcon Foundation scholarships.

Yes, you have to write to the Falcon Foundation to request the application. It's pretty straight forward and obviously relies on info already submitted to AFA. There is a certification form to be signed by the applicant and the parents. It also states it will become part of your AFA file. I was curious if anyone knows someone that's gone the Foundation route.

My son is at Northwestern Prep School this semester and was sent there by the Falcon Foundation. He loves it there. We did not apply for the program until we recieved a letter from the Falcon Foundation offering him a scholarship to one of 5 prep programs around the country. He chose NPS for the fall semester and will return home for classes @ a near by college will awaiting (hopefully) notification of appointment to USAFA. The program there has him retaking the SAT's and ACT every time they are offered this semester and working on fine tuning his math, english, and chemistry skills. It has been a great opportunity for him to meet other candidates from around the country. It is primarily a prep school for AFA and NA, but there are a few WP candidates there, too.

H-Mom - Welcome to CC. When did your son hear from the Falcon Foundation vs. AFA? My son has been talking with Mrs. Durbeck and really seems to like her - enough so that he's sent in his app and a deposit as a "free agent". Glad to hear your son is enjoying it - I'm sure he'll get into 2010. Good luck.

He heard from the Falcon Foundation about 2-3 wks after he got his letter from the AFA stating that he was not chosen, but should reapply. Read where your son got notification. That is great. What state are you from?

We're from the Conch Republic (FL). Thanks for the info you shared. He's keeping NWP in mind - just in case.

Is it too late to start FF? My AFA file is complete. what is required to be considered for FF? Where can i find applications?
