LARAMIE, Wyo. In a game decided by defense, Air Forces was downright dominant.

In front of an announced crowd of 23,168 at War Memorial Stadium, the Falcons limited Wyoming to only 216 yards of offense and forced five turnovers three of which led to scores to key a 23-3 victory over the Cowboys.

In the Mountain West Conference opener for both teams, the Falcons improved to 2-0. Wyoming, which has dropped three straight to Air Force, fell to 1-1.

Our defense played very, very hard, Wyoming coach Joe Glenn said. Air Forces defense was just too hard for us.

Air Forces defense also took pressure off the Falcons offense, which contributed to the victory mostly by avoiding mistakes it committed one turnover and making just enough plays.

Interesting fact: Wyoming is the only D-1 school in the country whose football stadium is at a higher elevation than ours. That being said, pretty nice game all around.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) -- A defense that forced five turnovers, a superb kicking game and one long run proved to be a winning combination for Air Force.

Kyle Halderman's 74-yard run set up quarterback Shea Smith's 1-yard touchdown run and Ryan Harrison kicked three field goals to lead Air Force over error-prone Wyoming 23-3 on Saturday.

Not to mention the C-130 flyover. The game today was AWESOME! The contingent from the Academy was smaller than I expected, but it didn't show. Great job Falcons!

starvin....and others who may not know........"CBS C" is the new name of the old CSTV (College Sports Network) and usually, if you have cable, requires you to subscribe to a version of the cable packages where you can get this viewing. I subscribe for the season and cancel at the end of the season so we can get the Falcons games when they are broadcast on that network! GO FALCONS!!!!!!!
