My son is a hs junior planning to apply to SU’s Falk College as a sports mgt major. Does anyone know if there is a maximum number of freshmen admitted to the program? Also, I would love to hear any feedback regarding this specific program! Thanks, in advance, for any information!
@piestone it is a great program, i have many friends in it and they love it. one of my friend’s brother graduated last December and is currently working in MSG which is awesome.
it is a highly competitive program but there is no set number for the amount of acceptances into the program
hope that helps - good luck to your son! let me know if you have any questions about cuse!
Thanks lsweisberg!i wrote a reply but it isn’t showing up as such. Instead it’s been posted as a new thread!
Sorry, I just needed to pop in for a slight correction. Sports Management is a very competitive major at Syracuse University and is limited to 90 available spots per year.
Thank you for the information!
@SyracuseRand - would you happen to know how many students apply for those 90 spots? Sounds similar to the size program at UMass, which my son also applied to for Fall 2016.
My son was accepted into the sport management major for Fall 2016. We were told that they get approximately 900 applications, accept around 300 to seat a class of about 100. He had a 3.7 HS GPA, about 1900 on SAT and relevant extra-cirruculars. He also demonstrated a lot of interest through visits to the school and an in-person interview. Not sure, though, if he is accepting the admission offer. He has other options to consider. Good luck!
Thanks @dadknowsbest. My son was offered admission too as it turned out - he didn’t expect it. Ultimately however he’s chosen University of South Carolina. Good luck to your son as well!
