Fall '09 Transfer to UNC Chapel Hill

its usually takes a couple days after u pay ur enrollment deposit to be able to register and dont forget to get ur pin too be4 u try and register

only thing I’ve heard from fin aid is that I need to send in my taxes, haven’t gotten awarded yet

I am looking to transfer into the Kenan-Flagler business school but am concerned about the foreign language requirement. I currently have completed 2 semesters worth of Spanish and have not done the 3rd. Does anyone know if I have to take the 3rd semester of Spanish or can I do the first semester of a different foreign language instead…

where do you get a PIN?

it should be in the packet you got from admissions. it’s called a PID number.

JCS its up 2 u I spoke to an advisor over the phone and had the same issue, but if u do another language u would have to do the 3 levels or take the placement exam and hope u score high enough to skip a course or 2

thesecrt i think you confused, there is a PID and a pin.

The pin is needed for registration and is found under registration information in your student central

Hi!
I’m a transfer student, got accepted around April 15. . Has anyone gotten their financial aid package yet? I haven’t, and I’m kind of waiting on that information in order to make a decision. Do I have to send the $100 deposit before they can provide me with financial aid information? Can anyobe help me!? Thanks!

yes I think you do have to send in your deposit in order to get your fin aid because you have to be able to login to your student central

In any case you can call to get a definite answer

This is annoying me. I sent my deposit in last week and I still cannot access my Graduation Credits to check the transfer credit evaluation.

Is anyone else waiting on any other schools like UVA?

You can log into student central with your ONYEN to check your financial aid award… I don’t think they’d make you send in a deposit ahead of time, but I could be wrong.

but don’t you have to pay your enrollment deposit before you can even create your ONYEN, the only thing you have access to before paying the enrollment deposit is your PID, the admissions page and application central

chaly87, another thing you can do is just defer your enrollment deposit because if you end up not going to UNC there is no penalty here is exactly what Julie said

“If you defer the enrollment deposit but accept our offer of admission, you can withdraw your enrollment at a later date. There is no monetary penalty, but you’ll need to let us know in writing if you want to withdraw your enrollment.”

So I would suggest you defer it so you can start having access to your ONYEN which in turn gives you access to student central

Good Luck

You don’t even need to accept the offer of admission to create your ONYEN, you can do that immediately after being accepted… create your email address, etc.

Hey, thanks for your help.

@Gator2008 Actually I created my onyen the day I got accepted. I didn’t know I could defer my enrolment. I had asked if I could extend the deadline for a decision and they said no, so I just assumed there was no other oprion than to pay the deposit.
Anyway, I payed it yesterday, so maybe I’ll get my fin. aid stuff soon.

@_ken: I check my student central everyday like three times a day! haha! It’s pretty sad…but I still have no news of my financial aid. Now that I paid, i guess I just have to wait.

I really really want to go to UNC! But money is an issue so I’m kind of stressed out because the other two Universities I applied to haven’t even sent the acceptance letters and I probably won’t get them until June or in UF’s case maybe even JULY! Which has me concerned about housing and uugh! its so frustrating! Sorry… I needed to vent. But thanks for you guy’s help!

cool, i’m in the same boat in regards to Fin aid…and its funny cause I also was deciding between UNC or UF…the only thing that has changed on my fin aid is that I was being verified so keep checking ur fin aid status just in case your picked because if you don’t send in those papers they won’t post your award.

Has anyone heard back from fin aid??

No, I haven’t received my financial aid yet either. Gator, how long ago did you send in your verification forms? I just sent mine back yesterday so I’m expecting it to be a few more weeks.

sent mine through fax on Wednesday, did they update youur fin aid status, or does it still have the notice of incomplete application.

They said packages would be sent out within the next week and a half. Then again I never had a notice of incomplete application. So, hopefully they meant all of us would get it next week.

thanks for the update chaly87

Still waiting on financial aid… really sucks that it’s taking this long, that leaves very little time to make a decision…
